Greetings Austria Triathlon Team :
Your fellow countrymen always place high in the RAAM solo division and odds are
you will represent Austria well in the relay.
Have a safe trip to the States and we’ ll see you in Oceanside soon. We should
get a break in the weather by the time you arrive .
Ride on !
Al
Congratulations Austria Triathlon Team !
Third place finish in the relay division and on your first try at RAAM. Actually
second overall if you don’ t count the recumbent team.
Your race reminds me of a similar rookie team from 2008. Navan Avonmore from
Ireland raced UTAG Yamaha neck and neck to the finish in Annapolis to claim
second overall in the relays. Similar to your competition with Team OC Quartro,
only you crossed the finish line first ! This is what makes RAAM fun to follow.
A great effort by both teams.
I hope each of you exceeded your expectations in racing RAAM 2009. The only
question remaining is will Guenther, Karl, Gerald, or Andreas return to race RAAM
solo . Maybe Ursula can campaign a woman’ s relay team.
I know I represent the sentiments of the RAAM organizing staff in saying it’ s a
privilege in hosting athletes such as ATT to compete in the ultimate two wheel race.
Good luck in your future races and hope to see you again.
